Last wed, June 17, a lady driving a black Toyota Innova with the number plate BHU 7833 was doing a 3 point U-turn @ SS23/10 in order to go to the durian store by the road side. As she was making her reverse, the was an on coming toll truck waiting for her to clear the way. And she reversed without looking at the back. Despite my real loud honk, she reversed straight into my car. She claimed that she didnt hear the honk !! Duh, even neighbours came out to check what happened as a result of the honk.
After a quick check, my corner light was broken. Unsure of the sport skirting / bumper though they look ok. Initially, she just want to “pay it off”. I told her I do not know how much it will cost at that moment. I told her she will have to pay for the repair. I got her details. This is her hand written note :
And her Roadtax :
(I should have taken a pic of her too)
She promised she will call the next Mon (ie. June 22). I had it repaired and it cost RM101.75. I called on Mon. The phone was not reachable. I left a sms message informing her the repair is done, call me. No call. Following that, I called every other day. The last was today, 5 min ago. It was the same message : the number you have called is not reachable. Please call again later.
RM101.75 is not a lot. I sure can afford it myself. But it is a matter of principles. You are at fault. It was your carelessness. And your carelessness cause me unnecessary damage. I don’t have to pay for your carelessness. And now, the ill integrity of avoidance. From her car sticker, she is probably a teacher (my guess) at a school @ Setia Eco Park. If she is a teacher, I hope the parents of her students take note & beware of her integrity. If you happen to know her, now you know the true her.
** I will make the effort & time to visit the residence address she gave & see what happen. This extra efforts is so unnecessary.
UPDATE : some1 from facebook counter verify her contact details, connection made, matters settled as of 5pm June 29. Thanks to internet & FB.

Massa, a strong & season cyclist, crashed in tonight’s ride and dislocated his shoulder. Hopefully there is no other injuries. I have no clue how it happened but wish him a speedy recovery and return to riding soon.

Since IS 07, countless nudges & advice to upgrade but I was silently adamant about being faithful to my Specialized. Gradually, the nudges & advices worn off. They left me alone to do my own thing :). Last March, the buying frenzy season start again just before IS 09. For those who do not know, this is the normal happening. IS is a time of pricy bikes parade. They are all in the 5 figures range. Top of the range frames, top of the range groupos & top of the range wheelsets. This year Per-li led the pack with her TIME beauty and the whole clan of TIME VXRX was born.
Weeks leading up to IS, everyone was ramping up the mileage for IS. Out of no where, the gentle nudge of changing came from unlikely person(s) who previously has never said anything about upgrading to me. After a close call of almost getting a 2nd hand cracked carbon bike, I decided that I should do my research & determine what I want. That started the research project of reading countless reviews, visit endless forums, talk to quite a number of season cyclists individually, asked loads of questions, think through the selection criteria….etc. All these was done under wrap, intentionally keeping it away from the detection radar. I prefer to have it decided with my criteria rather that everyone else’s influence.
It is a tiring process. Finally, I decided on the frame, put it down 2 days b4 IS 09. But the tiring process is far from over. In fact it went from tiring to stressful. Next come the groupo ratios, brands, sources, $$$$……At this point, I was happy to have MLK joined me in this stressful journey. :)
Months later, with a super BIG hole in our pockets, MLK had hers delivered 2nd week of June, I parted with my faithful WSD Specialized on June 18, and the stressful journey is nearing the end for me. Yay. Can’t wait.
Last Sun, I went out for 1st test run of my Gorgeous Black Leopard and a 2nd test on Tues night. Some of the shock faces & popping eyes were what I anticipated. I have been adamant for too long to have them think I will never do it and even if I were to do it, it will not be at this level. I am glad to have some really supportive friends who support my decision & choice. The cycling world reporters are also busy in reporting it too. :)…..(hey you, that some1 is going to act suprise & say, ”no, I didn’t know until i read it here…..:S I can see you thru & thru…heheheh…)
Soon, the final product will be the perfection of my expectation by the end of this month. The still WIP :
It is for enjoyment, not for competition. It is for my riding pleasure, not in compliance with other’s macho-ness status quo.
It is for the joy and fun of friendships
And from this 15 years old solid steel down tube shifting,
trying to chase down the peloton, but didnt know how come the peloton sped away from her. She is now ready to take the wind in front of the peloton. Yes, it is no longer a DREAM
but a REALITY ;) What are you praying somemore ? Cooper with Thule :)
Just Do it mutant !! ![]()

There were anticipation, pretty intense one, for Sun ride. Reason is simple. Both LK & I would like to test our hunk out ;). However, when the PCC bulletin came about, there were no ride leader around to lead this week ride. But they suggested riders do their own Ijok ride.
True to the riding spirit among the PCC cyclists, 7am, there were already cyclists gathering @ CP. Ben & his gang, JK, Tony, OJ, Yen, Teik, Farreint (wrong spelling I think), Geoff K, Chris and a few more kwai lous. My guess is about 17-20.
By 7.20am, I didnt see the shadow of Don’s car. I shot a text to check if he is coming. Nope he is not. I informed Ben & Teik. It was great to see Teik quickly rose the occasion, gave a short briefing, counted the number of riders and led ride out of CP.
Everyone cruised till we hit Sg Buloh, Ben went off with the 1st group and Teik took care of the rest of us. As we cruised along, I begin to hear some noise coming from the pedal. Next I feel my left foot / clearts has a little shifting as I push & pull…Thank God I heed the little voice this morning to bring along my alan key tool. I thought to myself, fix it once we get to Ijok Petronas. Into Guthrie, got the chance to draft Geoff. It is always nice to follow strong season riders. Their cadence is just so consistent & smooth. Some1 had a puncture, Geoff turned back to help and I don’t see him anymore. I guess there is no strong riders who can rempit with him
By the we are approaching the temple,I felt the shifting of my pedal is getting more. At the traffic lights junction turning of to Batu Arang, I decided to make a quick stop to fix it. But, it has a little hurdle, foot position is a little slanting. Arrhh… nevermind, another 55km to go.
OJ, Yen, Tony & gang who initially made the turn off to Batu Arang, decided to turn back & join us.
I hopped on from traffic lights & sucked on OJ all the way to Ijok. There were another group already there. The place was pretty packed. I tried to adjust my cleats but failed. Nevermind, another 40 to go. A little while later, Vincent & a few others arrived. They were late & started @ 7.45am. A short break then we were on the return leg. I tried stay with JK, Teik, Chris and another kwai lou. Just b4 Guthrie turn off, Teik stayed back to wait for the rest to make sure they know the way back. You are the man, Teik. Two thumbs up. The quality of a leader. Chun. :). Cycling god, if you are reading this, please take note
By now, my butt hurt real bad with the loan ISM saddle. I guess what is good for another female’s bottom may not be good for another.
As a result of adjusting different positions, shoulders & neck pon sakit plak. Plus, the helmet is also pressing on my right temple creating headache. Dayem. I just want to reach base. Thanks to JK who pulled me all the way back with his trek Madonne 6.2 beauty (I think) & lightweight wheels
Back to CP @ 11.15am. Waited for LK. She came back with Vincent. Thanks Vincent for champeroning. Appreciate it.
85km 1668cal in the pocket.
Oh, the testing of our hunks ? Another post
PS : Cycling god, no copy & paste ![]()

I came across this word more than a week ago from an rpmer. At first, I thought is some…….:p
Poor gal, she was infected. Apparently, it takes a good 3-6 month to fully recovered and for the muscles & joints to be abck to normal again. Serious matter. Here are some facts :
Chikungunya fever is a viral disease spread by mosquitoes. The symptoms include severe and persistent joint pain and fever similar to dengue fever. It is usually NOT life threatening. But the joint pains can last for a long time and hence full recovery may take months.
Chikungunya(pronounced as chik?-en-GUN-yah) disease was first detected in 1952 in africa at a place called Makonde Plateau. This is a border area between Tanzania and Mozambique. The name “chikungunya” is from the Makonde language and its meaning is “that which bends up”. This is a reference to the Chikungunya symptom where patients walk in a stooped posture due to joint pain. Chikungunya is also known as Chicken guinea, Chicken gunaya and Chickengunya. The presence of the word Chicken has also lead to a lot of misconceptions about the disease. Click here for more details on Chikungunya history…

Chikungunya disease is a viral disease transmitted in humans by the bite of infected mosquitoes. Aedes aegypti mosquito (also called yellow fever mosquito) is the primary transmission agent of Chikungunya Virus. This is usually found in tropics and hence the reason why Chikungunya is predominantly seen in asian countries. In recent cases, another mosquito species named Aedes albopictus is found to be a carrier. Aedes aegypti bites during day time and hence day time mosquito bite is the main reason for transmission. Click here for more details on what causes Chikungunya disease…
Chikungunya typically starts with one or more of the following symptoms - chills, fever, vomiting, nausea, head ache and joint pain. The attack is sudden and sometimes it is accompanied with rashes. Severe joint pain is the main and the most problematic symptom of Chikungunya. Click here for more details on chikungunya symptoms…
There is no antiviral drug or medicine specifically for Chikungunya. But since chikungunya is cured by immune system in almost all cases there is no need to worry. Treatment usually is for the symptoms and include taking sufficient rest, taking more fluid food and medicines to relieve pain (paracetamol for example). Aspirin should be avoided. Click here for more details on the treatment options for Chikungunya…
We are yet to find a vaccine for Chikungunya. Hence the only way to prevent Chikungunya disease to avoid mosquito bites! (Huh ? How Brilliant !!?!?!) Chikungunya virus spreads from human to human only through mosquito carrier. Hence mosquito breeding control is the best way to fight Chikungunya. Click here for details on the prevention of Chikungunya…
How Chikungunya affects pregnancy? Is Chikungunya fatal? Are there any alternate medicines for treatment?. Click here for a collection of frequently asked questions and answers on Chikungunya disease…
Research is ongoing to find a vaccine for Chikungunya. The disease is spreading outside Asia and it is suspected that new strains of Chikungunya virus are out there. Click here latest news and updates on Chikungunya fever…

Since the advice to prevent the disease is to avoid mossie bite, lets kill them all, leaving NON at all J …Too bad for those who doesn’t believe in killing. Then you can help us prevent the disease by offering yourself up for the bites….kekekeke

Since I picked up outdoor cycling 3 yrs ago, I have never got the chance to do the Tues nite ride despite many invites. Mainly it was because I have RPM class to do. Now that I have retired, I decided to attempt the Tues nite today despite some of my regular buddies were unable to make it. Tonight’s ride is not only my 1st Tues night ride, but it is also a ride for me to overcome the night ride mental block after April 9 night ride crash.
8.10pm, I found a parking spot along KSH and started the preparation. I can see there’s quite a number of riders, 20 maybe. Surprise, surprise!! Patrick whose leg was injured in MTB came to ride. Woohoo!! Hey, Vincent too. Yay. Familiar faces on this unknown route. Phew !! Of course, I am most certainly happy to know Patrick is recovering well and getting to cycling.
8.30pm, we rolled out towards Penchala. I don’t like the start at all because there’s too many traffic lights.
But the moment we hit Penchala, it was the 1st climb. Although, I was getting more comfortable with the ride, I was still a little apprehensive.
Apparently the route has changed. Instead of going up straight from Hartamas up Science Center, we went straight to Damansara Heights, hit the 2nd climb within the housing area. By this time, the climbs have distracted me from the uneasy feeling of riding at night. :) We headed straight pass FF @ MJH to Decanter Cafe & regroup. From there we continued and hit the 3rd climb toward D’sara Heights roundabout, coming back to the front of FF. This time round, we took a right turn in front of FF (Shell Petrol Kiosk) then a left turn into the housing. There, the 4th climb, then made our way back via Science Center.
From Science Center, we went into the private road of KLGCC back to TTDI. This is another section I don’t like. It is absolutely pitch dark. Only our bikes’ little head lights. Not a recommended route if you are riding alone. Thank God it was 3 of us.
Quickly, 26.58km of intervals on the road within an hours, > 600Cal burnt. Nice. I can see why some triathletes like this nite ride. It is certainly a superb intervals training.
Will I do it again. Errmm……maybe…..maybe. I think I got to 1st get use to the idea & getting comfortable riding at nite.
